The MND Sports Tour sees two charities working together to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and fund research into a cure. The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation and the Mel Evans MBE foundation last collaborated to deliver a major Gala Dinner at Old Trafford in 2024. This one sees them working together to stage a 156 mile walk around England’s capital city visiting lots of football and rugby clubs on the walk. 

A core team of 12, backed up by a support team, will complete the whole route continuously, with walkers rotating across the stages. Our aim is to work with the clubs on the route to get into their stadia for team photographs. We hope that they will encourage their supporters and even their former players to get involved. 

Over the last few years, we have been working to show how sports can come together, united to show their support not only for those sportsman diagnosed with this dreadful disease, but for all those who are fighting MND across the world.

Our aim is to raise in excess of £50,000 to be shared by the two charities.
