Former Liverpool, Coventry City, Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is taking on his biggest challenge yet. The National Three Peaks Challenge is undertaken by many. They traditionally look to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon within a 24 hour period. Chris completed this challenge a few years ago and now wants to double down on this.

He will be joined by a personally selected core team as he attempts to climb each peak twice, all within a 48 hour time period. On the second climb of each peak, he will invite groups of other walkers to join him.

His motivation for this event is to support four charities that mean a lot to him.

  • The LFC Foundation – Chris works with the Foundation currently
  • Walking’s Brilliant – Established by a group of former footballers to support many charities
  • Fans Supporting Foodbanks – The football foodbank established by supporters of Everton FC and Liverpool FC
  • Darby Rimmer MND Foundation – MND Charity set up by two Liverpudlians, Stephen Darby and Chris Rimmer
