Forever 20 Miler
Route and Timings
The Forever 20 Miler is a circular route starting and ending at Anfield. These are the proposed timings of the event. These are approximate timings. There could be a variation on this depending on the numbers who register to take part. If the numbers exceed 50 teams, we will introduce a staggered start time and teams will be told when their time is to start.
The event will begin with registration. All teams register when all members are there and they will be given a team number plus a set of instructions, directions for the event. They will also be given a karabiner which will contain six checkpoint tokens.
At the appropriate starting time, each team will start after taking a team photo with the event banner. We will start teams in 20-30 second intervals in order to ensure that walkers set off in smaller groups rather than one large one that leads to blocked pavements.
At each checkpoint, their will be a team of marshals. Each team will hand over one of their checkpoint tokens to the marshals to signify that they have passed the checkpoint. When all teams are through, the checkpoint will close.
There is no requirement for all members of a team to complete every stage. Twenty miles is a long walk. So teams can, if they choose, share out the stages within their team as long as someone walks each stage. Those not walking a stage are responsible for their own travel to the next checkpoint.
