March of the Day III
Part One – Liverpool to Stockport County
The event starts at Liverpool FC where Stephen Darby began his football career,. The route then heads through the north west heartland for rugby league before heading north through Bolton where Stephen finished his playing career. Further north, we pass through Preston, where Marcus Stewart had a short spell. Next stop is Longridge, where George Melling, who sadly died from MND, played for many years.
The route finally heads back down to Manchester through Rochdale, another of Stephen’s clubs, through Altrincham, who lost legend Mark Maddox to MND, and finally finishing at Edgeley Park, home of Stockport County. This was also a rugby league stadium at one point.
