March of the Day III
The Charities
March of the Day III is fundraising for two charities, the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation and the Leeds Hospitals Charity. This page shares the information on how the money raised will be used
The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation was set up by former footballer Stephen Darby and ex British serviceman Chris Rimmer. There has three main aims.
- To raise awareness of MND
- To support the families of those who have been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. This support is given through grants in conjunction with the MND Association. This may cover support in the form of House adaptations, Vehicle adaptions, Riser recliner chairs, Stair lifts, beds and accessories etc
- To fund research into treatments and a cure for the disease.

Money raised for Leeds Hospitals Charity will be used to support the Rob Burrow Centre. Thanks to donations, the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease opened its doors in November 2025. But the journey doesn’t stop here – with your help we can continue to support MND patients.
“We are focused on continuing to support the Rob Burrow Centre for MND now and long into the future. Donations could help fund the latest equipment, maintain the therapeutic garden, provide family support services and holistic therapies and for the first time in Leeds, new research programmes looking at areas such as early diagnosis for MND patients. Donations will help us continue to make Rob’s dream a reality, supporting patients, families and staff at the new centre.”
