The Grassroots Football Tour is a circular walk around non-league football teams in the West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester areas. The journey visits 22 football clubs in total. Stockport County is the only league club involved. They were in the National League up until recently and are an example of what can be achieved when teams excel. 

The route will take two days to complete. A core team of 16 will be recruited to cover the full distance. Open Walkers will be able to register in teams of up to six top join any part of the day time stages. These include

• Friday – Ossett United to FC Halifax Town
• Saturday – Bury to Stockport County
• Sunday – Oldham Athletic to Ossett United

The event is to raise funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
