Bissett Challenge 194
As we emerge from the Covid pandemic, three members of the same family have set themselves an ambitious target of walking 194 kilometres in three days in support of the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. Andy, Harry and Scott Bissett have been so inspired by the work of Stephen Darby and Chris Rimmer in the battle to ‘Attack MND’, they wanted to do their bit. The choice of 194km is a reference to Stephen’s Bradford City career. The three lads, sports fans based in Yorkshire, wanted to recognise the 194 league games that Darbs played for the Bantams and so their journey, over three days, will cover the 194 km distance calling at sports stadia along the way.
The provisional plan is for the event to take place on July 9-11, after the government’s final stage of lockdown release. We will monitor the feasibility of this through the preparations but this is their current plan.
Their aim is to raise £10,000 for the Foundation through donations, personal sponsorship and maybe through the raffle / auction of signed sports memorabilia. Additional walkers will be able to join the throughout, dependent of course of any Covid restrictions that may still be in place.

As part of the event, we are also collecting non-perishable food to be donated to three football foodbanks along the route in Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool
